Rates Took a Little Dip — Might Be Worth a Look
For those of you who've been watching mortgage rates go up, up, up and thinking "maybe I'll just wait" — I've got a little good news today.
Rates ticked down. The average 30-year fixed is at 7.07% APR right now — down 11 basis points from yesterday and 13 from last week (per NerdWallet, using Zillow's numbers). I know, still above 7%. Nobody's throwing a parade. But it's the lowest we've seen in a few weeks, and on a house payment, every little bit counts.
Here's the honest truth: I've got no idea where rates go from here, and neither does anyone else. There's a jobs report Friday that could swing things either way, and the Fed meets again early in December. If those numbers come in strong, rates could head right back up.
So here's my take — if you've been holding out for rates to crash back to where they were a few years ago, you might be waiting a long time. But if the numbers work for you today, at today's rate, with a payment you're genuinely comfortable with? Then today might be your day.
Ready to buy? Give me a call and let's run your numbers. No pressure, no sales pitch — just let's see where you stand.
